Devereaux Holdings has been breeding and buying polo ponies since 1996. Devereaux has been involved with horses for the past 40 years. We stand four stallions at present and 40 mares.
Our stallions are: Rainman, sire-Katmandu, dam- Rain Bow. Rainman was born in 1994 he is 15.2hh and is black/brown in colour. Katmandu, Rainman’s father, is a proven polo pony sire.
Katmandu stood as a sire at Ellerston, a large polo estate in Scone N.S.W., for several years and produced many a champion polo pony. He was then taken to Yaloak in Victoria to stand at stud to breed more polo ponies. Rain Bow, Rainman’s mother, has outstanding polo bloodlines, her mother being Czar who won many a champion pony and was by the great sire Chelchardoo.
Rain Bow has won numerous polo pony awards throughout Australia. Some of which are, Champion Novice Pony – Perth 1986, part of a Team of Ponies – Sydney 1991 Easter International, Champion Pony – Melbourne Cup Tournament 1995, Team of Ponies – Windsor 1996. Rainman is still playing competitively; he took naturally to polo and plays very well.

K.P., sire-Shady Spot, dam-Cinderella. K.P. was born on the 1/8/1986 he is 15.2hh and is brown in colour. Both of K.P.’s parents were polo playing ponies and K.P. himself, played a very good game of polo. He played here at Devereaux for several years before retiring to stud. K.P. has one of the kindest natures I have seen in a horse, let alone a stallion. He was quiet to ride and extremely considerate of his rider. Polo tournaments were never a bother, he took them in his stride, and he would line up with the rest of the polo ponies, whether that was on the truck, tied up in the pony lines or out there on the field and he would never make a sound or put a foot out of place. K.P. is still standing here at Devereaux, we have several of his progeny and they are playing very well. Quite a few of his progeny have been in the, Champion String of Ponies, which is played for each year at the Charles Cup here in W.A.
K.P. has also produced some champion event and dressage horses, for example Devereaux Master Buzz who was placed 3rd & 4th in both his prelim tests and 1st & 2nd in both the Young Rider tests at the 2003 Dressage State Championships, at the Dressage Horse of The Year event he came 1st in the Prelim 1F & 1D as well as becoming Champion Prelim Horse Of The Year, and in 2004 Buzz came 2nd at Moora PC ODE , 1st at Narrogin ODE , 1st at Fairbridge ODE, 1st in the Young Event Horse of the Year, age group 6 to 7 and Overall Grand Champion.
There is also Devereaux Blinky Bill who in 2003 came 3rd at Moora PC ODE, 5th at Moora ODE, 5th at Narrogin ODE, 2nd at Wooroloo ODE and 1st in his Prelim at Gidgegannup ODE. Devereaux Copy Write went out to give it a go for his first year and came 2nd at the Moora PC ODE and 1st at the Katanning ODE. K.P. was the first stallion to stand at Devereaux so there are several of his progeny coming through the ranks. K.P.
Diaquest, sire-Indian Conquest, dam-Dossier. Diaquest was born the 5/10/1982. He is sadly no longer with us. He stood here at Devereaux for a couple of years, so we still have some of his progeny coming through the ranks.
Besides breeding our own horses, Devereaux also buy in young horses with the correct conformation and temperament that is needed to become either a Polocrosse horse, polo pony or eventer. We break in, train and school all our own horses. We have sold horses overseas, interstate and here in W.A. Our mares come from good thoroughbred lines; some of these thoroughbred mares have been imported from N.Z. or have played and are proven polo ponies. We play and compete on the horses that we have trained and bred. People can see our horses performing during the polo or eventing season here in W.A.
